Kate (Vinesy) (She/Her)

Media Relations Officer

  • Year I started supporting LCFC: March 1980, we won against Chelsea.
  • Favourite LCFC event: So many! Winning the Prem has to be one. The other was travelling to Atletico Madrid with my girlfriend Sarah in the CL. The 5-3 win against Man United was ace too!
  • Favourite LCFC players: Gary Lineker, Emile Heskey and Marc Albrighton
  • Why Foxes Pride is important: So I can be my authentic self at the match without worrying about being abused; that everyone is welcome at Leicester, whatever their skin colour, religion, gender, age, sexuality or ability.

Rishi Madlani (He/Him)

Committee Member and Pride in Football Campaigns Officer

  • Year I started supporting LCFC: When I was a teenager in the mid-90s I was first taken to a game at Filbert street by my cousins – a defeat to Man United – after that I was hooked.
  • Favourite LCFC event: So hard to pick one: we won the league cup on my 18th birthday weekend; winning the Premier League on that never forgotten Monday night; and the game against Everton where we saw Wes lift the Premier League trophy.
  • Favourite LCFC players: Steve Walsh, Peggy Arphexhad and Riyad Mahrez. Also Matt Piper for being a huge Foxes Pride ally.
  • Why Foxes Pride is important: Leicester is such a diverse and inclusive city and it’s essential our football club is too. Ideally I’d rather Foxes Pride didn’t need to exist but whilst we continue to face LGBT-phobic discrimination we will continue to be loud and proud!

Carol Ward

Committee Member

  • Year I started supporting LCFC: 2013, when I met my wife (Fiona).
  • Favourite LCFC match: Beating Man United 5-3, and the Everton game when we were presented with the Premier League Trophy. Very emotional day, I cried through Nessun Dorma!
  • Favourite LCFC player: Marc Albrighton
  • Why Foxes Pride is important: To work with the club to assure safety for all supporters at the ground; to raise awareness of diversity, ensuring that football is for everyone; and the social meet-ups with Foxes Pride members and other supporters groups!

Fiona Barber

Committee Member

  • Year I started supporting LCFC: I moved to Leicester in the mid ‘90s and started going to games then. Brian Little was the manager, then Martin O’Neill took over. It’s been an amazing rollercoaster ride ever since!
  • Favourite LCFC event: It has to be winning the Premier League! What a season, we even managed to get tickets to see the team at Old Trafford when Wes scored an amazing equaliser and then watching Chelsea draw against Spurs in the Battle of the Bridge. What a night that was, the noise around Leicester was unforgettable. I’m sure some people didn’t bother to sleep that night!
  • Favourite LCFC players: Muzzy Izzet and Emile Heskey. There’s also David Nugent, he just ran and ran, loved his energy and finally there’s Vards – just a complete legend!
  • Why Foxes Pride is important: It’s so important to have a voice, to have a group that can support members of our community to attend games free from harassment and abuse. To help non LGBT members become allies and to support safe space for us to watch and support our team

Gary Jacques

Committee Member and Co-chair of Leicestershire Police LGBT+ Network

  • Year I started supporting LCFC: Early 70s
  • Favourite LCFC match: The whole of the League 1 season
  • Favourite LCFC player: Keith Weller and Frank Worthington
  • Why Foxes Pride is important: It’s needed to show people in the LGBT+ community that things have changed and we are there to support them if need be.
